Majella is an accredited child, adolescent, infant and parent, and adult mental health clinician with 24 years' experience working in clinical mental health settings. Majella is also qualified to provide supervision for mental health clinical social workers and mental health clinicians.
Majella works across the lifespan and can support adults, parents, children and adolescents individually, or together, through family and relationship therapy to facilitate meaningful long term change. Majella has worked extensively in tertiary infant, child and adolescent mental health services, with expertise working with clients presenting with trauma, troubled attachment relationships, grief, perinatal and adult mental health challenges. She uses psychodynamic therapy, creative interventions including psychodrama and therapeutic storytelling, along with mindfulness and relaxation techniques to support clients to feel relief from struggles with anxiety, depression and unpleasant emotions, and difficulties within relationships.
Majella has an individualised therapeutic approach tailored to the needs of her clients. She uses evidence based interventions grounded in theories of Interpersonal therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Movement, Trauma and Attachment Informed practice. Majella has training in the Neurospequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). For children and young clients, Majella utilises play therapy principles, psychodrama, therapeutic story telling, and creative interventions such as art and music therapy.
Majella currently provides services under Medicare Mental Health Care Plans (Rebate of $79.05), Psychological Therapy Services ((PTS), NDIS, Victims of Crime, Open Place, Carers Australia and through self-referral.
