My Story

My journey into natural healing began during my time as a caregiver for my father, who was battling cancer.  This experience led me to explore various natural healing arts across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Australian and New Zealand.  Cocoa obtained a Diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) in Australia and holds a Master's Degree in Natural Healing Sciences from Taiwan.

Born in an isolated village in China, Cocoa experienced a simpler, more traditional life before moving to the bustling, fast-paced city of Hong Kong.  While she appreciated the city's vibrancy, the culture did not resonate with her.  This sparked her desire to travel and explore different cultures.  After completing an associated degree in Public Administration and Management, Cocoa worked diligently to save money for her studies, eventually travelling to Adelaide, to pursue a Bachelor of Marketing and a Master Degree in Ecommerce.

Upon arrival in Adelaide, Cocoa was struck by the freedom she felt walking across Victoria Square, especially the scent of freshly cut grass - something not available in Hong Kong.  This moment became pivotal in her personal journey.  She later had the chance to meet the Abbot Master of a Mahayana Chinese temple, which provided answers to many of her life questions.  This experience marked the beginning of her daily mediation practice and deepened her interest in Buddha teachings, which have since shaped her life's path.

After leaving her permanent job in Adelaide, Cocoa volunteered in Guatemala.  During this time her father was diagnosed with cancer, prompting her to return to Hong Kong to care for him.  Witnessing his passing, and observing conventional medical treatments catalysed Cocoa's mission to explore natural healing for herself and others.

Her journey took her to northern China, where she studied Chinese medicine massage and Body Space Medicine.  She then pursued a Master's Degree in Natural Healing Sciences in Taiwan, where she studied a wide range of natural therapies, including Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Reiki, Qi Gong, Biofeedback and more.  Her academic research on mindfulness culminating in the publication of her journal paper:  Hoi-Ching Ho, "Effects of a Mindfulness Meditation Course on Learning and Cognitive Performance among University Students in Taiwan", Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2016.

During her time in Taiwan, Cocoa was drawn to Taoist teachings, which further enriched her understanding of healing and philosophy.  After five years of study and travel, she returned to Australia and settled in Alice Springs where she met her life partner, an acupuncturist and TCM doctor.
